A friendly way to let walkers know you are behind them
Good solid design with long range sound, and a switch to stop it ringing when not required (phew!!), great for letting horse riders, other bike riders, parents and children know you are approaching.
Easy to fit and includes shim for fitting on different size handle bars. There are two versions one with an rubber band mounting and the other bolt on fixing.
The mountain bike bell mounts on your handlebars within easy reach of your hands. Fits all handlebar diameters: from standard 22mm all the way to 35mm DH style.
Mount it on the bars for occasional use, or directly on the grips for instant shifting between silent and ring mode .
On the the Trail
I was a little bit skeptical about these bells as I thought they might get a bit annoying but far from it, There is a handy little switch which silences the bell instantly, so most of the time it is off.
When you come across a dog walker or horse rider then you switch it on and the continuous jingle is enough for them to hear you approach and then the nice thing is they usually turn around with a smile on their face.
It is a much better technique than doing a rear wheel skid to announce your presence.
Why we like it
The band on version is easy to move from bike to bike.
Ringing a standard bell can sound a bit like 'Ding Ding get out of my way' whereas the gentle Jingle is much more passive and usually generates a more friendly response as you pass.
You switch it on and leave it jingling until the person hears you then you can switch it off.
